Pirineu365 wraps up the 2025–2026 winter season with exceptional snow depths and more than a million visitors

7 April 2026

The six Pirineu365 mountain resorts wrapped up an exceptional season yesterday, one defined by heavy snowfall that led to visitor numbers surpassing one million for the first time (1,018,801).

La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Boí Taüll, Espot, and Port Ainé remained open from the Purísima long weekend through Easter Monday and recorded some of the highest visitor numbers in the country. The resorts offered up to 124 days of snow sports and a wide range of complementary activities for all ages.

Ferrocarrils President Carles Ruiz Novella noted that this has been an “extraordinary season in terms of snowfall, which has required a tremendous effort on the part of our teams at the stations to get them ready.”

Ruiz added: “We account for 11% of the GDP of the regions where we operate, and the fact that we’ve seen such significant growth in visitor numbers also has a very positive impact on the region.”

Lots of snow and skiers

In terms of total snow depth, Vallter stands out with 673 meters and Boí Taüll with 578 meters, but overall, all resorts have reached levels not seen in the past 10 years. As for the season’s maximum snow depths, they were reached between late January and mid-February, with peaks such as 350 centimeters in Boí Taüll and 340 centimeters in Port Ainé.

This amount of snow has drawn skiers to the area and helped the Pirineu365 group reach a record number of visitors, with more than one million people visiting the six resorts to enjoy snow sports and other mountain-related activities.

Here are the details for each station:

La Molina: The resort was open for 124 days, welcoming a total of 401,283 visitors, an unprecedented figure, with some days seeing more than 12,000 visitors—demonstrating the resort’s strength and growing appeal. The influx of skiers has been high, cementing La Molina’s status as a premier destination in the Pyrenees. This strong dynamism has been bolstered by new developments, such as the comprehensive renovation of the Niu de l’Àliga mountain hut, a space that symbolizes the resort’s commitment to a “365-day mountain” model that is more sustainable, accessible, and adapted to the current challenges of diversification and seasonality reduction. On the sporting front, the season has reinforced La Molina’s position as a host for numerous events, maintaining its track record in competition and bringing visibility and prestige.

Vall de Núria: It offered 103 days of skiing and welcomed 158,579 visitors. The winter season in Vall de Núria was marked by excellent snow conditions, which ensured an optimal experience throughout the season, as well as by the resort’s consolidation as a premier destination for families. The range of recreational and sporting activities, along with improvements to services and facilities, have enhanced the resort’s appeal, and it has also continued to advance its commitment to sustainability.

Vallter: The resort offered 124 days of skiing, attracting 73,071 visitors. Vallter has enjoyed one of its best seasons in recent years, marked by several periods of heavy snowfall that resulted in substantial snowpack depths and allowed 100% of the ski area to remain open throughout the season with exceptional snow quality. The celebration of the resort’s 50th anniversary provided unique added value, with a special program of events and races that attracted a large number of visitors and strengthened the resort’s connection to the local area. Additionally, the GastroMarmotes experiences have established themselves as one of the season’s star attractions, becoming a highly valued signature activity among visitors.

Boí Taüll: The resort has been open for 118 days, welcoming 172,499 visitors. It has been an extraordinary season. This winter’s heavy snowfall has particularly benefited the north-facing Boí Taüll, ensuring excellent snow quality and making it one of the Pyrenean resorts with the deepest snowpack. It has also been a season full of activity and visibility, featuring both local and international sporting and social events. Among the highlights was the ISMF World Cup Skimo Boí Taüll, which consolidates the Alta Ribagorça resort as a global leader in ski mountaineering, just ahead of its debut as an Olympic discipline at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games.

Espot: It has opened for 120 days, welcoming 84,447 visitors. Espot has enjoyed a very successful season, marked by excellent snow conditions and a high turnout of sports enthusiasts and families, reaffirming the resort’s status as a premier destination within the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. It has also stood out for the dynamism of its calendar of activities and events, with very high participation in offerings such as the Espot Tamarro Race, magician Òscar de la Torre performance, and the FECOLL snail tasting. In the sporting arena, the resort has gained prominence by hosting one of the events of the first Catalan junior freeride circuit, as well as the third phase of the Spanish Cup and the Spanish Mountain Skiing Championships and Cup, which have established it as a leading venue for high-level competitions.

Port Ainé: It also opened for 120 days, attracting 128,922 visitors. Port Ainé has wrapped up an excellent season, marked by high-quality consistent snowfall thanks to its north-facing orientation, which kept the ski area in optimal condition throughout the season. As for activities and events, offerings such as the electronic vermouth parties, the magician Òscar de la Torre performance, and the FECOLL snail tasting received a great response from the public. In the realm of sports and leisure, Freenight was once again one of the season’s major attractions, while Betula, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, has cemented its reputation as a premier freestyle event in the Pyrenees.

Getting ready for summer season

The ski season may be over, but Pirineu365 isn’t slowing down. In just over two months, the mountain resorts will reopen their doors to offer summer activities that promote outdoor adventures and high-mountain experiences year-round. Pirineu365’s goal is to unite the six resorts under a single strategic vision: to make activities available year-round, diversify the offerings, and provide a comprehensive experience 365 days a year. And to position the Catalan Pyrenees as an attractive destination with activities beyond the snow season.
