The venue will remain open for the duration of the construction work and will offer a variety of dining experiences throughout the summer season

The Vallter mountain resort continues its process of transformation and facility upgrades with the start of construction to expand the terrace at the grill restaurant Marmotes. Located at the resort’s highest point, at an elevation of 2,535 meters, this dining venue is preparing to offer an even more comfortable experience that is seamlessly integrated into the exceptional landscape of the Ripollès region.
More space, better views: a 154 m² terrace
The project, which began this July, will triple the terrace’s current area, expanding it from the original 56 m² to a total of 154 m². This expansion is being carried out by utilizing the flat roof of a new adjacent warehouse, while maintaining the restaurant’s distinctive aesthetic with wooden plank flooring that blends harmoniously with the building’s surroundings.
The expansion will allow visitors to enjoy the spectacular views of the “Balcony of the Costa Brava” in greater comfort, either through its large stained-glass windows or directly from outside.
Efficiency and infrastructure improvement
In addition to the customer space, Vallter is taking advantage of this project to improve its logistics and service facilities:
- Resource management: two new 10 m³ underground tanks for potable water will be installed, replacing the current 7.5 m³ tanks.
- Functional improvement: the expansion of the semi-underground storage facility optimizes staff operations and the station’s internal logistics.
This project is in addition to the comprehensive renovation carried out in 2024, which already provided the facility with a new dining hall, an expanded kitchen, and the first phase of a terrace.
Open during construction
To ensure that visitors can continue to enjoy the summer in the mountains, the grill restaurant Marmotes will remain open throughout the weeks that the work lasts. In this way, the resort guarantees its grilled food offerings and dining experiences throughout the summer season.
