With snow depths exceeding 6 meters and a record number of more than 42,000 visitors in a single weekend, FGC TURISME’s mountain resorts are experiencing their strongest winter in a decade, consolidating their position as the economic engine of the mountain regions.

The 2025-2026 winter season at the mountain resorts of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya is going down in history. Constant rainfall since December has left snow accumulations rarely seen in the last 10 years, with figures exceeding 6 meters in Vallter and 5 in Boí Taüll. These figures place some of the PIRINEU365 resorts among the five with the most snow in Europe and in first place in Spain.
A weekend of record highs
This abundance of snow, combined with favorable weather conditions, has brought a massive influx of visitors. Last weekend, February 21st and 22nd, an unprecedented milestone was achieved: more than 42,000 people (22,585 on Saturday and 20,096 on Sunday) enjoyed our resorts in just two days.
On Saturday, February 21st, FGC TURISME broke its all-time record with 22,585 skiers, far surpassing the previous record of 20,276 set in 2023. At each resort individually, record numbers were also set. For example, La Molina saw 8,564 skiers on February 15th, Boí Taüll set a new record with 4,123 skiers on February 21st, and Port Ainé reached 3,368 on the same Saturday in February.
So far this season, the 20,000 daily skier mark has been surpassed seven times, and overall visitor numbers are 20% higher than last year. Notable areas have seen spectacular growth, such as La Molina, with 37% more visitors, Vallter, with 24% more, and Espot, with a 22% increase.

This historic winter proves, once again, that skiing at home leaves its mark and that the future of our mountains is stronger than ever.
