We’ve announced the winners of the Vallter 50th anniversary historical photograph contest

9 February 2026

To celebrate Vallter’s fiftieth birthday in 2026, as part of the program of events for this anniversary, a contest of old photographs was organized, showcasing the experiences of the visitors who have accompanied us during these fifty years.

We asked all participants to send us photos related to Vallter’s 50th anniversary—personal stories captured in time and experienced on our slopes.

After deliberation with a jury of long-time members of the resort, we are pleased to announce the winners, who will receive the following prizes (redeemable during 2026):

  • 1st Prize: Exclusive Vallter 50th Anniversary skis, handmade and personalized by Liken Skis + two day passes.
  • 2nd Prize: Two day passes + a 50th Anniversary Welcome Pack + two 50th Anniversary T-shirts.
  • 3rd Prize: Two special 50th Anniversary Welcome Packs.

And the winners who will receive the prizes are:

1st Prize: Emma Guillaumes

Photograph description: According to Emma Guillaumes, the photograph shows a mass celebrated in the old Vallter refuge, officiated by Father Pipes of Sant Pau. The image dates from between 1982 and 1985, based on the anorak worn by Emma’s mother. These gatherings were common on Mondays, when a group of shopkeepers from the Camprodon Valley—popularly known as “the Monday gang”—would go up to Vallter and share this moment of celebration.

However, Emma’s mother doesn’t recall any further specific details about that particular day.

2nd Prize: Anna Suriñach

Photograph description: The photograph original property of Francisco “Siscu” Carola, a renowned firefighter and beloved figure in the area, who passed away a couple of years ago. Anna explains that Siscu and her father shared a close friendship and were adventure companions in the mountains, participating together in several rescues in Vallter as Red Cross volunteers.

The image was taken on Vallter’s opening day and features Siscu accompanied by 4 other people whom we have not been able to identify. Anna emphasizes that photographs like this “are a true treasure for the history of Vallter and our region.”

3rd Prize: Olívia Bahí

Photograph description: The Bahí family started going to Vallter when the resort had only been open for two or three years. They went with their children and, from that moment on, decided to rent an apartment in the Camprodon Valley every winter. Olívia—the girl in the photo—started skiing at the age of five. Over time, the family developed a very special connection with the resort and the Camprodon Ski Club.

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to everyone who participated! See you on the slopes next season!
