The ski and mountain resort of La Molina, managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), is advancing the start of the season to this weekend. In this way, the Cerdanya resort kicks off Pirineu365 this Saturday, which brings together the six mountain resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC): La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé, and Boí Taüll.
The snowfalls of the past few days, the low temperatures, and the intense work of the station teams have allowed La Molina to currently have snow depths of between 20 and 40 centimeters of powder snow and optimal conditions to open 14 slopes in the Pista Llarga, Trampolí, and Cap de Comella areas.
There will also be 5 lifts in operation (Pista Llarga, Trampolí, Johan Cruyff conveyor, Cap de Comella, and the conveyor belt in the Pista Llarga children’s park), as well as equipment rental. As for dining options, the Alabau restaurant-cafeteria and the self-service restaurant will be open. And regarding additional activities, the Adventure Park, the Wildlife Circuit, the Coll Sise sled track, tubing, and the Christmas Camp will be available. After this weekend, the station will remain closed in order to prepare for reopening on Thursday, December 4, and will remain open continuously thereafter until the end of the season.
The season passes for the six resorts will work for La Molina
In addition, for the first time and as a novelty to kick off the 25-26 winter season of Pirineu365, the season passes for all Ferrocarrils mountain resorts can be used this weekend at La Molina.
Thus, people who have purchased this pass, regardless of the resort, will be able to enjoy the first runs on the slopes of the Cerdanya resort. Those with the La Molina pass should use it in the usual way. Those with passes from other resorts will need to go to the resort offices beforehand, where they will be given the necessary pass.
On December 4, the rest will start
The remaining Pirineu365 resorts, located throughout the Catalan Pyrenees (Boí Taüll, Espot, Port Ainé in the Lleida area; and Vall de Núria and Vallter in the Girona area) are expected to open for the Immaculate Conception long weekend, as long as cold and snowy conditions persist. As for La Molina, it will be closed from Monday the 1st to Wednesday the 3rd, reopening on Thursday the 4th continuously until the end of the season.
All the resorts’ piste teams are working intensively so that from December 4 to 7 the maximum skiable areas can be opened and, additionally, the rest of the complementary activities to skiing can be offered, providing the broadest range of activities to enjoy the snow and the mountains.
