The event consisted of a giant slalom (GS) event, following the tradition that combines competition and brotherhood. The Memorial is one of the most traditional veteran races in the Spanish masters panorama. In fact, it is one of the oldest and most important races on the calendar of this category.

The sports day also ended in the new après-ski space “La Placeta”, where the awards were presented and continued with refreshments and musical entertainment.

100 years since the birth of Pepeta Planas i Capdevila

The Government commemorates this 2025 the centenary of the birth of Pepeta Planas Capdevila (Ripoll, 1925 – Barcelona, 2006). Planas was a pioneer who paved the way for women in a sport that, at the time, was dominated by men. With an unparalleled dedication and a tireless passion for the mountains, she became a reference both locally and internationally, inspiring generations of female skiers.

Planas stood out for her successful sports career full of victories in championships in Catalonia and Spain during the 1940s and 1950s. Despite the difficulties of the time, with wooden skis and without ski lifts, she achieved an impressive list of awards and was recognized as the first female instructor of the Spanish Ski School. In 1991 she received the “Forgers of the Sports History of Catalonia” award.

She began skiing in La Molina at a young age and her career was marked by her passion for skiing, which led her to compete internationally and become a role model for future generations of skiers.

Her perseverance and dedication led her to compete internationally and continue participating in veteran competitions well into her old age. In recognition of her career, she received several honors and medals.
