What’s the nordic sky and where can I practise it?

2 December 2019

Recently Catalonia has experienced an augmentation in the practice of alternative ski modalities to alpine skiing, such as Nordic skiing. If you want to know everything about it, and where to find spaces to practice it, you have found the ideal post!

Nordic skiing is a skiing discipline comprising all types of ski not fixed on his heel. And what does this mean? It means that in practice, the heel of the boot is not fixed at the base of the skis. A substantial difference with skiing applied. The traditionally most practiced in Catalonia.

Modalities like cross-country skiing, Telemark skiing, or biathlon, is typical of Nordic skiing. When we talk about this sport, we put on the role a soft sport, which does not require joint impact and with a low risk of injury. At the same time, it allows you to enjoy great snowy landscapes . In fact, it is a highly recommended sport for the recovery of some athletes.

The classic cross-country skiing technique is the most traditional since it comes directly from the primitive ways of moving through the snow It is the easiest to learn since the basic gestures come from the movement of walking to which you have to add a sliding and a force of arms through the rods. If you are new and you suffer in case you do not go out, do not suffer. The machines that prepare the tracks mark the snow trail and the skis are channeled on the trail and thus do not intersect and balance is maintained more easily. You have to try it!
