Mountain ski in Boí Taüll invites you to discover high-mountain routes that start from the resort, combining effort, spectacular landscapes, and the freedom of the highest altitude in the Catalan Pyrenees. In Boí Taüll and its surroundings (Vall de Boí), ski touring routes are carried out throughout the snow season, always depending on snow conditions, allowing ascents to emblematic peaks with significant elevation gain.
One of the most attractive traverses is the one leading to Pic de la Pala Alta de Sarradé (2,982 m), a demanding ascent that rewards you with remote, panoramic views of the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park.
During these excursions, skiers can learn safety maneuvers, how to use crampons or avalanche transceivers (ARVAs), as well as progression and self-sufficiency techniques in snowy terrain, accompanied by professional guides who know the complex landscape of Alta Ribagorça.
The most popular routes include:
- Ascent to Pic de Punta Alta de Comalesbienes (3,014 m): A large-scale high-mountain traverse and a “three-thousander,” ideal for very experienced skiers.
- Ascent to Pic de l’Orri (2,735 m): A more accessible route with good elevation gain starting right from the resort, perfect for consolidating ski touring experience.
These routes offer panoramic views of the highest peaks in the area, the chance to explore the surroundings of the national park, and the opportunity to breathe in the calm of the mountains.
To participate, it is highly recommended to go with a certified guide and have specialized equipment (touring skis, skins, ARVA, shovel, and probe) due to the altitude and variable terrain conditions.
